Saved yet stuck?

Born again, yet have you ever felt powerless in the face of tribulations in this world, even though the Bible promises that
He who is in us is greater than He who is in the world?

It was 2012.

Life was humdrum. A gnawing dissatisfaction when the God shaped vacuum inside of us is not filled.

It was work on week days. Church activities on weekend. Then repeat. Going round and round.

On the surface, everything seemed fine. We have a wonderful marriage, blessed with beautiful healthy children, employed in secular jobs and serving actively in church.

When faced with challenges, we addressed them in much the same (worldly) way as everyone else, just peppered with prayer and imitation, but no power and no revelation.

Then we stumbled upon this teaching article on the internet by Andrew Wommack on “The Believer’s Authority”.

I never knew that a believer had authority over the enemy. In fact, the subtext of another similar blog on the site was “What you didn’t learn in church”. I never learnt that in church and so it was an interesting read. But it was just the tip of the iceberg. I browsed around the site and realised that there was a corresponding 6 part teaching audio teaching series on the same and downloaded to listen as it was free. And that was the beginning of the end of “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6)” for us. We downloaded the entire library of free audio teachings from Andrew Wommack’s website and listened to them day and night, night and day.

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!
Luke 11:13

One of the key teachings that revolutionized our walk with God and fellowship with the Father, was the scriptural understanding of the baptism of the Holy Spirit through Andrew Wommack’s teaching, followed by the desire to receive and then beginning to speak as the Spirit gave utterance (Acts 2:4). Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues! The Holy Spirit became our teacher (John 14:26) and reading the bible was no longer about information, but revelation. The Word of God became alive!

The Word of God is our GPS (God Positioning System).

For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.
-Mark 4:26

As the word in Mark 4:26 says, the farmer himself does not know how the seed should sprout and grow after they are sown. So it was with us, we did not know how, but as we soaked in the faithful teachings of God’s word day and night, night and day, our lives were transformed.

Andrew Wommack has a solid teaching on this titled “A Sure Foundation“, which is also the first course in Charis Bible College. Through Andrew Wommack’s Ministry, we began to be exposed to many other solid teachers of the Word and began to access many other free teachings available through his and other ministries. And after we learnt about Charis Bible College, we yearned for it to come to our country because of the lives we know that will be transformed through the teaching of the Word!

A Place called there

I still remember how I felt the first time I heard the teaching series on A Place called “there” by Andrew Wommack. It caused many ripples in my brain and a wave in my heart. I had not been familiar with the Old Testament then and much less the story of Elijah and to hear Andrew Wommack unpack the scriptures stirred my heart. I encourage you to listen to the audio teachings as well and be stirred, not stale! You will also find that your provision is there where God called you.

Through the years, from time to time, I would hear Andrew Wommack mention in his other teachings or conferences, exhorting people to come to Charis Bible College and how there was a signage at the US campus in Colorado called “Welcome to your PLACE CALLED “there””. In recent years, I would feel so moved whenever I heard that, as if God was beckoning me ‘there’.

Someday, we’ll be ‘there’!

Our Place called there

So he (Elijah) went and did according to the word of the LORD, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. – 1 Kings 17:5

One of the things we learnt from the teaching was obedience. Elijah went and did according to the word of the LORD, even though he did not have full revelation of what “there” looked like. He went. He did. So over the years of ministering to various people, we have often exploded with so many things to share from so many different sources that could be applicable to the person we were ministering to. Often, we spent time recalling and collating the different links to direct people to. It came to a point that we felt God telling us to put all the resource references together and this is our place called “there” in this season.

Jesus

It’s all about Jesus. We will share resources that impacted us, revelations that we received and above all we want to share the love of God through Jesus Christ.

But God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
– Romans 5:8

For so many, their lives was one in which there was “no Jesus”. But ours transformed after we got to “know Jesus”.

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.
– Colossians 1:13

Our hearts’ desire is that you know Jesus too.

You may ask “How do I get to know Jesus?”

What is eternal life?

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ who You have sent. -John 17:3
